Who would have thought we'd get to 2010 so fast? 2009 came and went while I was sleeping.

Well, about all I have to say about 2009 is, at least the Mrs. put up a bird stand outside. I sit for hours watching those feathery creatures come in for a landing. All for my own entertainment, of course. It is pure mercy that I do not break a window and grab one of those creatures for my dinner. However, I have a delicate stomach.

All this CEOing has made me quite ill. We let some sales reps into the house a few months back for a brief conference. Naive that I was, I thought that we would have some real business meetings. But they had sabatoge in mind. Fleas! I was attacked by some of the biggest and hungriest fleas in history. Led to Quatro's demise. (Or that is what I think, once a flea gets in your kidneys, its impossible to get it out.)

Yes, this CEO had a very hard year. However I'm optimistic that with wamer blankets on my desk, birds for my own private entertainment, and a steady diet, I will soon be back up to my usualy observations on running this business... or not!

Happy 2010 - may it be flealess!

So there I am seriously meditating on how to improve business, when a sound wafts through the bedroom window like the scent of fresh rabbit in my cat dish. Only the sound is not edible, and after shaking my head a few times, I realize, its real.

The rooster is outside crowing, as though to brag, "You should see the size of my latest chick.." Now that bird is one farm-challenged creature... it's a cow.

Our neighbors have a cow. I've listened to the lowing three times now, and the ducks are chiming in, "Cow, cow, cow". So it is settled, our neighbors have a cow.

How on earth is a CEO to think in this cacophony of vocal instruments. Between the roosters, the ducks, the chickens, and now the cow all I want to do is hide under the covers until it all passes.

The Mr. says it will pass. Seems the neighbors have a tent in the backyard. He says its for a party... so I'm thinking, roast cow? That might be worse this mornings unusual alarm!

At long last, I can sit and look out the window and get my thoughts straight... yes, Spring has finally arrived. Leaves on trees, ducks waddling in the back yard, pansies in front, and bless the Mrs., a bird feeder outside the kitchen window.

What more could this cat ask for?

I know, I know, you want more blog entries. But seriously, I am a CEO Cat, not a blogger. Nevertheless, in light of numerous complaints, I will try to write a bit more regularly. Just please keep in mind, as a CEO, I do not feel compelled to focus only on my business. After all, that is the Mrs. job, to work. My job is to RULE (isn't that how it works for ALL CEO's)?

So, having made myself purrrfectly clear, I will try to keep you updated with the background antics of the staff at Tech-Challenged.

Firstly, for those of you who wondered, none of my current staff have opposable thumbs. This means that when it comes to typing, well, let's say, each blog entry and email response from me, and my staff, is at great sacrifice of valuable time that could be better spent sleeping, or eating, or sleeping, or eating, or....

The dogs have all moved up from the basement, with new spots to sleep in... Nibbles (the A's dog) is psychotic about us cats. O did I have fun yesterday. "A" was sitting at the computer with Nibbles sitting at her feet. He loves to stare at me. But he doesn't dare attack, "A" won't let him. So I thought I would do some reinforcement on his obedience training.

I snuck up on him and hissed, loudly. You should have seen him jump! And "A" of course made sure there was nothing he could do about it! What fun! I strutted down the hall, visited the pan, and then took a nap on my bed (dog training is exhausing work).

Ah yes, Spring IS here!

I can see GREEN outside the windows. I hear the sound of birds, the quacking of ducks, and even the chickens sound wonderful. I see the chickens in the backyard. Wonderful, wonderful - SPRING!

I never thought I'd see anything but piles of cold white stuff out of our windows for the rest of my life. No wonder its been hard for me to think. My brain has been turned to ice just looking at that horrid cold stuff. Quatro has been out in it. He says it can be fun, until his paws get cold. But I do not believe him. I heard from the chicken hiding in our basement to thaw his feet. No, I do not believe Quatro.

What energy I have. If there is not new content for a while, it is because I am running throughout the house, jumping from window to window, and trying to see what new ideas come from this outer thaw of grass, and inner thaw of cat brain.

Glorious sun! Blue sky! Curtains pulled back from the windows. WARMTH!

Not as warm as those glorious days in a far country where I could sit and bask all day in the window... but its a start!

CEO Guay declares today an official holiday. The ducks have been told not to worry about service for the day. Enjoy!

I am a merciful cat - am I not?

Thank you, thank you, thank you my adoring public. Yes, my eyes are crossed, my it is definately a bad hair month... my fur is simply flying. But at last, with no thanks to any of my assistants (the ducks are all nursing a chicken recovering from cold feet), I have finally gotten some tips and tricks up about maintaining your Windows desktop. Do you have any idea how many times I had to record some of those videos before we could finish?

First the Mrs. simply refuses to write a script. So she forgets something, I have to make her start all over. Then she started letting the whole world see what was on her computer, so I had to make her follow some of her own advice... I tell you, these humans can be impossible at times. I don't know how they survive without cats like me to keep them in line (but I digress).

Well, we've got most of the info up now. But my paws are chapped, my nails are peeling, my eyes are crossed, and I am definately suffering from static hair. Don't ask, don't even think about asking. I've hidden the camera from the Mrs.

What I need is a decent meal. Hmm, I wonder if I can sneak something from one of the dogs when they aren't looking... I have been studying that huge white box in the Kitchen, but cannot yet figure out how to get the door open. I've asked asked Quatro to see if he can come up with a plan. Really, as CEO you'd think I'd have a bit of control over when that box is opened to provide much needed nutrition. How is a cat to think?

Well, I hope you are all beginning to appreciate the benefits of having me as CEO of this site. Just imagine what the content would be like without me!

Getting this website updated on a regular basis is becoming the bane of my life. Its not that I don't want to see that the work gets done. I know what my responsibilities are, but at the end of the day, trying to find someone to help me type is simply more work than I can handle. The Mrs. says that some of my entries do not show a united front and show a team of people working together.

But I ask you, WHAT people. I am a cat! Quatro is a younger cat, and the ducks simply are not handling the service and support aspect of this job seriously. I tried to recruit one of the dogs, and they said that having to do this kind of work would make them feel caged in.

With temperatures close to 0 at night, and cold air that can pierce the windows with a swiftly aimed breeze what do you humans expect from me? No opposable thumbs, and when the Mrs. won't blog for me, this requires pawing the keyboard over and over until I get the right keys... typos are a pain, but we can't afford to have them--the Mrs. says that typos reflect poorly on her professionalism!

I have thought long and hard about what to do. I even tried to get the Mr's attention on this. But he just laughs and thinks I look cute. There I am standing under the piano stomping my back paws and meowing at him to get his attention, and he starts saying I'm dancing. Enough to give cataplepsy to any cat...really. These humans are impossible to train.

I'm thinking of trying to develop a training manual for other felines as frustrated as I am. For certain, I need to warn all Isaeli cats to stay away from Michigan. They have no understanding of the defintion of warm or sun.

I'm going to find a warm blanket, crawl under it and pout for the rest of the evening

The administrative decision has been made that until further notice, all business decisions will be made under blankets.

I don't care that these humans have central heating. It does not prevent the cold from leaking in through the panes of glass, and when -2F hits my airspace, well, there is only one thing to do but make a nosedive under the blankets.

Don't set your hopes up. I've hidden the Mrs. camera. No pictures of my hide away. I know this site needs to be developed further, but honestly, can you blame me for wanting to keep warm? In the meanwhile, as CEO I am taking the administration of making only blank decisions for the time being.

I look out the window and simply do not understand how there can be so much of this white stuff falling from the sky - over and over and over again! It's enough to make me wish I was bear and go hibernate for the rest of the winter. And then the Mrs. goes and gets a contract for some other work and leaves me hanging trying to get content up on her site.

Ridiculous. It's not like we can link my brain to this site and upload the wealth of knowledge that I have for all and sundry to appreciate. And I ask you, have you tried typing instructions on how to work with Windows using only furry paws?  O well, the instructions really are being developed but it is taking me longer than I expected. So stay posted, and have pity on all the cats out in the cold. OK?

I am still a harried bundle of fur as I face of the indignity of starting 2009 with clipped nails! Unbelieveable. You think I can easily type with my paws, think again, keeping up this blog is difficult enough without the opposable thumbs needed to press the space bar!

Sometimes I wonder why I do this... but we are working on hard on preparing some pages that are taking a lot longer than we thought they would. Coming soon, information on the basics of taking care of your computer, and how to work with the Recycle bin. A few tips that will take the terror out of deleting things. We are also working on a page about My Documents, and how to make sure you use that folder properly, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, my paws need a wash... o and have a Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfectly wonderful 2009!

This cat has had it. I have been working hard to make gifts for the office staff - and stand to miss the deadline, all because our color printer is no longer printing colors correctly.

For the tech-challenged people facing such problems, here is what we have done so far - and if the solution appears, I'll have the office staff make a new page dedicated to this issue.

Printer: Canon MP 300

Prior Status: Printing great up until we had to change the printer cartridges

Current Status: All colors are printed in weird shades of purple hues

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Changed printer cartridges - OK
  2. Did a new alignment of the printer head - OK
  3. Checked the printer nozzle - OK
  4. Checked brand of printer cartridges
    • Noted this is an Office Depot brand
    • The printer suddenly did not recognize a half full black Office Depot cartridge
  5. Called Office Depot - they advised to bring in all of the cartridges and they will replace with Canon brand cartridges, and I would pay the difference.
  6. Changing to original Canon CLI-8M and 5M cartridges solved the problem!

Firstly, I want to say - Great Going Office Depot. I thought customer service was dead, but you have proved otherwise. I hope that this will solve the problem - but even if it does not - you have a continuing customer because of your courtesy and willingness to help us with this issue! In Hebrew, they say "Kol HaKavod!"

So the print shop is now up and running!

In the meantime, the Mrs. has a Pre-Job interview - they want to rewrite her resume. She spent 2 weeks rewriting it, and now they think it can be better... go figure. I thought she was a technical writer, I guess she is tech-challenged too!

And if she posts another picture of me like last time, well, I can get some good pictures too...

This cat is going to snow-board to Office Depot now!
