Working with MS WordThese are the links you will most likely want to use... I am probably putting myself out of business by giving them to you... but then, if something is done well, why do it again? This site provides excellent information with Word tips and tricks. The main drawback, few pictures. But if you can follow the instructions, you'll find a lot of what you need to know about working with Word here. This link goes to The Office Experts page for MS Word tips and tricks, but they also provide a lot more information. Again, not many graphics for the more tech challenged amongst us... but if you can follow the instructions - I'm out of a job! This site has been a great help to me in locating advanced information. But it provides a lot of information for beginners. A great site for all levels of users! Will definately put me out of business if you go use this site.

Visit these sites and learn more about this fun profession. Society for Technical Communication (STC) The professional organization for technical communicators. Find out why this profession is so important. This site focuses on content management and the related tools. Content management is the concept of how content is handled, used, and reused in different types of deliverables. It can be as simple as copy and past (rather primitive), or as advanced as writing in XML and having all content stored in a database. Great stuff about localization vs translation and globalization. If you are working on documentation that will be translated, this is a great place to begin learning about the related issues you must take into consideration. This is probably the most comprehensive site on the web for discussion of quality related issues. If you happen to be doing work related to Quality Management Systems, Quality Manuals, and ISO, this is the place to learn and find resources! If writing for quality management systems, you will find almost everything you need to know here. |
