Creating brochures and booklets is a collaborative effort involving the writer, graphic designer, and many others to create something that meets the stated aims of the item. Some people just say, “I want a brochure,” but have no idea what to put in it. Others know exactly what they want, but are unable to convey their message well.
As a team member, I ask questions, interview people, write up copy, and interface with a variety of people to assure a final deliverable that meets a client’s needs.
I have worked on a number of brochures and booklets for Rambam Health Care Campus. One of those brochures, received an Award of Excellence from the International Summit Awards of the Society for Technical Communication. This booklet focused on two research programs at Rambam, and was titled, Seven Years of Atidim & Ofakim Research Awards at Rambam Health Care Campus.
A special brochure that I worked on was titled, “Rambam Must Be Prepared.” This brochure was designed to help Christian visitors to Rambam (an Israeli governmental hospital) understand the importance and need for safety measures, even at the construction phase for many of the hospital’s facilities. The aim of the brochure was to raise awareness and hopefully generate donations for the many safety-related needs at the hospital.
